I am going to share my Daughter’s favourite dish ” Hara Bhara Kabab” and Hara bhara kabab is a popular tasty treat in Indian restaurants. This spicy delicious snack is deep fried made with spinach and potatoes flavoured with spice mix.
These kababs are best way to add nutritions spinach in your edit and this recipe’s step by step photos make it very easy and simple to prepare at home in less than 30 minutes.

Serves : 4 Servings
- ½ cup coriander leaves
- 1 Bowl green peas
- 2 potatoes ( Boil)
- 2 to 3 green chilies
- 1 medium sized bunch palak (spinach bunch weighing 120 grams)
- 3 tbsp. Besan flour
- 1 ½ tsp ginger garlic paste
- salt as needed
- ½ tsp garam masala
- ¼ tsp Chat Masala (optional)
- 2 to 3 tsp oil for frying
- Pinch of Turmeric and red chilli powder (optional)
- 1/4 tsp Garam Masala powder
Step By Step Hara Bhara Kabab Recipe :
1: Firstly Boil Potato and Mash the potatoes Keep aside
2: Boil water with some salt. add the spinach leaves and Boil for just 2 mins.Doesn’t get cooked much further in patties, so we need to boil for 2 minutes for the raw smell to go away.
3: Add 2 tsp oil to a pan and fry ginger garlic paste Add green peas and chilies. Fry for about 4 to 5 minutes. If the peas are not tender, you will have to cook for a little longer. peas will not be cooked much further, so we need to cook until the raw smell of the peas is gone.
4: Meanwhile fry besan in pan stir till you get a raw smell and the gram flour changes its color keep aside.
5 : Take spinach, green peas masala to a blender and grind them until medium coarse texture.
6 : Now add Grind Puree peas mixture and chick pea flour , Garam Masala powder, chat masala , turmeric powder, red chilies powder, salt.
7 : Add Coriander Leaves and Mix everything well. You should get a fairly stiff dough otherwise the kebab will turn soft and soggy from inside. ( Optional bread crumbs if you want the patties to be very crispy.)
8 : Heat a Pan and add 1 tbsp oil for each batch. Take small portions of the dough and make balls. Fry on both the sides. Set the patties aside for 5 to 7 minutes for the crumbs to stick well.
9 : Serve hot with Sauce or chutney Enjoy 🙂
