Bread roll stuffed with spicy potatoes are famous Indian street food loved by all age groups. They are crunchy from outside and soft and spicy from inside. Bread rolls are prepared with bread, stuffed with spicy mashed potatoes and then deep fried.
Any variety of bread can be used for making bread rolls. Here I have used a simple potato stuffing, but you can also add carrots, peas to the stuffing.Let us see how to make bread rolls with step by step pics
Preparation Time : 10 Min Cook Time : 25 min Serves : 4
- Potatoes – 4
- Bread Slices – 8
- Onion – 1 big size
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Green Chilli – 3
- Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
- Cumin/mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Sesame seeds – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
- Chat Masala(optional) – 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
HOW TO MAKE STUFF BREAD ROLLS RECIPE WITH STEP BY STEP PICS :
Step 1 : Boil the potatoes, peel and place in a big bowl. Mash the boiled potatoes and keep aside.
Step 2 : Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add mustard/cumin seeds ,Sesame seeds, chopped onion . Mix ginger along with green chillies and saute continue on low flame.
Step 3 : Add Turmeric powder,salt to taste, garam masala and mix well. Then Add mashed potatoes, chaat masala powder(optional) . Mix well and leave for 2 minutes, until spices are well blended with potatoes. Garnish with good amount of chopped coriander leaves and keep the mixture aside.
Step 4 : Dip the bread into some water and remove immediately.Remove the excess water by squeezing gently with your palm. You would perfect this once you make them more times.. Just don’t allow the bread to absorb excess water as this would result in soggy bread. Also you won’t be able to cover the stuffing. In case you get a soggy bread not to worry use other bread instead
Step 5 : Take the prepared potato stuffing roll on on bread slice. Do Steps are as below.
Step 6 : Make all bread this way and keep aside for 2 min.
Step 7 : Take a deep frying pan/Kadhai and deep fry the roll until golden brown from all side. Don’t fry with too many at a time. Fry only 2 to 3 at one time.
Step 8 : Place the rolls over absorbent napkin.
Step 9 : Now ready to serve with Chutney or Ketchup Enjoy !!!
